NorCal-Aussie: Allen did not buy a quiet Friday.
Week 2, Thursday night: Josh Allen put up 40.82. Sunday Best Phong nearly answered with a committee. Nobody gets the comfortable weekend.

There ought to be a small reward for starting Josh Allen on a night Buffalo scores 41. A quiet Friday. A smug breakfast. At minimum, the right to stop checking the opponent's roster for an hour. Ninja Turtles got 40.82 points and discovered Sunday Best Phong had brought Amon-Ra St. Brown, Khalil Shakir and the Buffalo defense to the same dinner.
Buffalo beat Detroit 41–31. The fantasy arguments remain open. These are the final Thursday player scores and the current Week 2 head-to-head totals; Live Proj means an estimate of the eventual weekly score, not a result. Six matchups, no all-play safety net, and plenty of football left for everybody to reconsider their confidence.
Ninja Turtles 40.82, Sunday Best Phong 39.00
Allen did all the Turtles' scoring. Phong answered with 30.70 from St. Brown, 5.30 from Shakir and 3.00 from Bills D/ST. One extraordinary quarterback performance versus three contributions, and the matchup still feels like somebody balanced a glass on the edge of the table.
Yahoo's Live Proj has Ninja Turtles at 153.29 and Phong at 151.50. That is not room for a victory lap. That is room to turn around carefully without knocking anything over. The Turtles received the star performance the lineup was built to exploit; Phong refused to become the background character in it.
The useful distinction is that Allen's points are already banked. So are Phong's. Neither team gets to replay Thursday simply because a projection moves on Sunday morning. This is the matchup to keep open while the rest of the league claims to be calmly enjoying football.
Byrobowl || 43.98, RedPanda 0
Jared Goff delivered 29.78 from Superflex and Sam LaPorta added 14.20 at tight end. Byrobowl || brought the Detroit passing game as a package deal and came away with a substantial head start.
The Live Proj is 158.40–126.53 for Byrobowl ||. RedPanda has no Thursday starters, so the zero is not an accusation. The projection is the uncomfortable part: even after accounting for the players still to go, Yahoo sees a sizeable gap.
Byrobowl || can enjoy a good start without writing the acceptance speech. RedPanda needs Sunday production, not a seminar on how early it is. Both statements can be true. The league's group-chat confidence department tends to permit only one at a time.
Shough Me the Money 0, The Substation 20.40
James Cook III handed The Substation 20.40, a useful deposit before the weekend traffic arrives. Shough Me the Money has not put a player on the Thursday board.
The Live Proj still leans the other way: 147.66 for Shough Me the Money, 142.57 for The Substation. Cook did his job. He did not sign a contract guaranteeing the rest of the matchup. The Substation gets real points and the comfort of a successful opening shift; Shough gets the less satisfying privilege of explaining that the projected total remains higher.
I would rather have the Thursday points than Thursday speeches. That does not make the remaining players disappear. This one is close enough that neither team should start diagnosing the other's season.
The Gamble 4.30, Block Party Ray 0
Jameson Williams managed 4.30. In a game that produced that much scoring, The Gamble found the express checkout with nothing in the basket. A small return is still a return, but it did not buy much insulation.
Live Proj nevertheless favors The Gamble 134.53–119.74. Block Party Ray has not started scoring, and Thursday did not create a hole that needs a miracle to escape. Williams' number gives Ray an opening; the rest of the lineup still has to walk through it.
The Gamble does not need a retrospective speech about opportunity. The Gamble needs the next starter to produce something with a second digit.
Wheat Hill Weasels 27.30, Scrublys Scrapyard 18.90
The family matchup already has competing versions of the evening. Wheat Hill Weasels got 20.30 from Jahmyr Gibbs and 7.00 from Jake Bates. Scrublys Scrapyard got a strong 19.00 from Dalton Kincaid and an unwelcome −0.10 from DJ Moore.
The father has the actual lead. The son's Live Proj is higher: 150.78 for Scrublys against 142.61 for Wheat Hill. This is excellent conditions for a completely reasonable family discussion in which everyone chooses whichever column supports the current argument.
Kincaid did enough to make Scrublys' night useful despite the negative score next to him. Gibbs and Bates gave the Weasels more points in hand. Neither side has won the week. Both have enough material to act as though the other needs that reminder.
Baldy 0, Lathrop Raptors 0
No Thursday starters. No points. No evidence for a new grievance. Live Proj reads 132.18 for Baldy and 132.59 for Lathrop Raptors, which is Yahoo's elaborate way of declining to help.
They reached Friday without a Thursday disappointment or a Thursday excuse. The entire matchup is still ahead. In a week where everybody else has begun defending a number, that is almost restful.
Skip's call: Byrobowl || turns the Detroit double into a win over RedPanda. The Turtles–Phong game stays irritatingly close. Allen did enough to headline the night; Phong did enough to make sure the headline comes with a question mark.
