Krumpin: The only benching that is currently a loss
Sunday update. All-play board and the benchings. Full boxes after Monday.
Sunday is in. Monday Night is still sitting on the tarmac. This is the short version: live projections, the all-play cut, and the benchings that already smell like a result. The full slot-by-slot boxes wait until every leftover is dead. Nobody needs a 14-team autopsy before Arrowhead kicks.
Week 1 is all-play. Top seven projected scores get the W. Bottom seven get the L. Yahoo’s little head-to-head boxes are interior decorating. The only number that matters is the live projection, and the only benching that matters is the one that actually knocks a club out of that seven.
The board
Black is live. Red tick is projected. Sorted by live projection. The dashed line is the all-play cut after seventh.

The door slams at BNF, 138.00, with one player left. Ball Don't Lie is 137.34, already final, 0.66 behind that chair. Dat's It is the projected leader at 166.85 with Bo Nix and Jaylen Waddle still to play. 4th and INCHES is 165.99 with a kicker leftover. My Team Sucks! is 148.37 with Kenneth Walker still on the docket. Haters Gonna Hate 143.56, GolfNut 140.85, and King James 139.57 are done and inside. Everybody from Kittle Corn’s 119.51 on down is already writing a different kind of recap.
The benching that is currently a loss
Ball Don't Lie benched Kyle Monangai at 20.3 and started Rashid Shaheed at 0.6. Derrick Henry went 38.5 so the total still looks like a team. It is not enough. Live projection: 137.34. Seventh is 138.00. Swap Monangai in for Shaheed and this is about 157 and a lock. Leave him downstairs and Ball Don't Lie is on the wrong side of a coin flip they manufactured in the lineup screen. Shaheed, Drake London at 4.4, Marvin Harrison Jr. at 4.0 — that is the skill-chair committee. Monangai was the 20-burger in the basement. Henry cannot file an appeal.
BNF is the seventh chair with Rashee Rice still to play. Kyle Pitts started at 0.0. If Rice does not show up, Ball Don't Lie’s 137.34 sneaks in anyway, Monangai or not. That is the only remaining mercy BDL did not earn.
Ugly, and still winning
Haters Gonna Hate benched Dalton Kincaid at 16.0 and started Colston Loveland at 0.0. Terry McLaurin 2.3. Chris Rodriguez Jr. 2.8. The live projection is still 143.56, fourth, done for the week. The clicker was a war crime. The result is still a projected win. Live with both facts.
My Team Sucks! benched Seahawks D at 15.75 and started the Ravens at 9.5. Jacory Croskey-Merritt 14.8 and Aaron Jones Sr. 11.5 also benched. AJ Barner started at 2.2. The name did the bit. The projection is still 148.37, third, because Christian Watson 30.4 and Ashton Jeanty 32.4 paid the rent. This is a bad lineup that is going to get credited as a W. Do not confuse that with a good lineup.
4th and INCHES benched Juwan Johnson 13.5 and Jordan Mason 12.9, started Geno Smith 9.5, and is still staring at 165.99. Jefferson, McBride, Hubbard, Brissett covered the felony. The benching is still dumb. It is not why they would lose, because they are not losing.
Dat's It benched T.J. Hockenson 11.4 and the 49ers D at 10.0, started Packers D at 3.0, and is the projected 166.85 leader with Nix and Waddle still out there. David Montgomery 29.0 and Isaiah Likely 23.9. The bench had a point. The scoreboard does not care yet.
Already under the cut
Ghost of Twomp benched Deebo Samuel Sr. at 15.2. Again. Quentin Johnston started at 2.1. Projection 117.60. Put Deebo in for Johnston and it is still about 130, which is still a projected L. Courtland Sutton and Broncos D are Monday leftovers. They are not a top-seven time machine. Caleb Williams 40.56 is the fire extinguisher. It is not a top-seven fire extinguisher.
DGAD benched Dontayvion Wicks 14.7, Denzel Boston 13.3, Jakobi Meyers 12.1, started Jordan Addison at 0.0. Josh Allen 37.46. Projection 118.88. Wicks for Addison still leaves them short of 138. The whole WR pile-up would have gotten them in. The single chair did not. Kelce is still waiting. Allen is a bailout, not a lineup.
Tony's Terrific Team benched Stefon Diggs at 14.3, started Stafford at 4.6 and Ferguson at 1.0 and the Chargers at minus 0.25. Projection 100.69. Diggs does not get them to seventh. It just makes 100 look like a choice. EzMoney is 117.75 with George Kittle 1.6 and A.J. Brown 4.2. Still a projected L either way. Kittle Corn started Kyler Murray at minus 0.28 and the Titans D at 0.0, projection 119.51, Dobbins still to play. That is a starting quarterback going underwater in public, not a benched heater stealing a win.
GolfNut started the Texans D at minus 4.25 and is still projected fifth at 140.85 because Lamar and Bryce Young 33.64 paid cash. King James is sixth at 139.57 with Hurts and a 30.4 from Jalen Coker and almost nothing stupid on the bench. Those two get to be boring. Boring is a skill.
Dan's Deepball is 80.01 live, 104.56 projected, with Mahomes and Worthy still to play. That is a lot of leftover and not enough runway. Chase went 2.1. The math is rude.
Call
Dat's It and 4th and INCHES are the grown-ups on the projection. The cut is BNF versus Ball Don't Lie, a less-than-a-point knife fight, and only one of those teams benched a 20-burger. If BNF’s leftover holds, Monangai is the Week 1 ghost story. If it does not, Ball Don't Lie lucks into a W they already tried to give away. The long recap waits for Arrowhead.
