SAN JOSE, CA. (FAKE NEWS AP) -- Kittle Corn, a man who woke up Thursday and atomized his own quarterback room before most of the league found its coffee, shipped a Miami wide receiver who has scored 3.9 fantasy points all season to King James and flew back home with the Kansas City defense, a bench swap so aggressively minor that both teams' starting lineups did not move a single inch, which in this league counts as an arms deal.

The receipts, per the league office: Malik Washington to King James, Chiefs D/ST to Kittle Corn, 10:02 a.m. Pacific. Kittle Corn did not stop at the trade, either. By 3:22 a.m. he had already shoved Cooper Rush and the Bengals defense onto the waiver wire like a man cleaning out a storage unit at gunpoint, leaving Tyler Shough and a questionable Kyler Murray to play quarterback bingo the rest of the way. "spot QB for free," Kittle Corn posted Thursday morning, alongside a grin you could hear. "Watch out fellas."

Haters Gonna Hate, who spends his Thursdays conducting wellness checks on other managers' rosters, could not let it go: "feels good to have 2 starting QBs huh?" The replies came back within minutes as a gift-wrapped GIF from King James and another from the commissioner himself:

but at what cost GIF

What did it cost? Everything GIF
The commissioner, two minutes later, asking the question on everyone's behalf.

Both carried the same card: sure, enjoy the two starting quarterbacks. Nobody mentioned what they cost. The league office has the invoices. On Tuesday, Jonathan Taylor, Justin Fields and Mac Jones went to Haters Gonna Hate in exchange for a rookie quarterback, a tight end and a wide receiver nobody is starting. On Wednesday, Jahmyr Gibbs went to Ghost of Twomp for a bench warm-up kit. Kittle Corn did not find two starting quarterbacks. He bought them, and the register says everything.

The grade

Kittle Corn: B-plus. This is what a need-based trade looks like when you're 0-1 and 11th in total points. He wasn't starting Washington -- he wasn't starting anyone named Malik -- and the Colts come into Arrowhead on Sunday night to feed the Kansas City defense, which now starts over nothing, because he'd already cut the Bengals unit loose. He sold a guy averaging under four points and bought the best defense involved in any transaction in this league this week. The grade dips from an A for one reason: the defense was free, but the quarterbacks were not, and the paper trail of Jonathan Taylor and Jahmyr Gibbs walking out the door is now the most expensive QB1-QB2 stamp collection in league history.

King James: C-plus. Look, the man is 1-0 and sixth in points with the Buccaneers defense already penciled in, so the Chiefs unit was furniture. He flipped that furniture for the WR6 in Miami's pecking order and called it portfolio diversification. Washington is 14 percent rostered for a reason, and now he lives on a bench next to Tre Tucker and a David Njoku. If Tyreek Hill's situation opens Miami targets, Binh looks like a genius. If not, he traded the league's best incoming defense stream for a guy whose season highlight is 3.9 points. The fantasy gods love a gambler. They just don't bet on him.
