# NorCal-Aussie: Shough Me the Money buys the whole QB aisle

## The $51 quarterback spiral

The Tuesday wire closed in the family league, and Shough Me the Money — already 2-0, already starting Tyler Shough — spent the morning buying every backup quarterback not nailed down. Michael Penix Jr. for $20\. Marcus Mariota for $20\. Jameis Winston for $11\. Fifty-one dollars, three clipboard-holders, zero lineup spots planned. That's not a bench, that's a QB collectors' album. And the kicker: their flex AND kicker slots are sitting EMPTY for Week 3 while three spare QBs eat roster space at the dinner table. Grandpa bought three snowblowers in July.

Wheat Hill Weasels made the week's only football-shaped bid: $13 for Jonah Coleman while dropping the injured Jayden Reed. Clean, sensible, boring. We're proud and we're disappointed. Baldy paid $6 for Rashid Shaheed and flipped Kendrick Bourne — who Baldy had picked up for free off this very wire Saturday — so that's a margin play, not a panic. Block Party Ray took Harrison Butker for a single dollar, which is correct pricing for a kicker and a rebuke of everyone above.

Ninja Turtles did Ninja Turtles things: Oronde Gadsden and the Vikings defense, both for $0, both filling holes (Mayer and the Ravens D out the door). Free wins, hopefully. The Substation grabbed the Chiefs defense and Ryan Flournoy for a combined $2, Lathrop Raptors swapped in the Saints D for $0, and that was the whole marketplace. Nobody else panicked. One person bought the panic aisle.

## Week 3 table

### Ninja Turtles (0-2) vs Shough Me the Money (2-0)

Turtles project 124.8 vs 111.9 despite the three empty slots on both sides. Josh Allen and the Hall-Warren backfield against Bijan and Rashee Rice. The $51 QB museum doesn't start for Shough Me the Money unless Tyler Shough trips over a champagne glass — and 0-2 Turtles need this one badly.

### Baldy (0-2) vs Wheat Hill Weasels (1-1)

Weasels favored 159.1 to 129.4, the biggest number in the league this week. Purdy, Gibbs, Etienne, Pickens and McBride is a five-course meal; Baldy has Herbert, Irving and the new Shaheed toy. Baldy can't afford a 0-3.

### Byrobowl || (2-0) vs Block Party Ray (1-1)

141.0 vs 115.0\. Byrobowl rolls Stafford, Jefferson, Kittle and LaPorta. Ray gets Hurts and Barkley back Monday night but left the kicker slot EMPTY and just paid $1 for the guy who could have filled it. Ray. Buddy.

### The Gamblers Remorse (1-1) vs Lathrop Raptors (1-1)

140.1 vs 131.4, Gamblers favored. Love, Hampton and Wilson against Jeanty, Henry and Chase. The Raptors' $0 Saints D move gets its first start here; if it scores, that's the best bargain of the week.

### RedPanda (0-2) vs Sunday Best Phong (2-0)

Phong favored 146.4 to 126.6 and looks every bit the league's best team: Mahomes, CMC, St. Brown, JSN. RedPanda got Geno Smith and Rashod Bateman off the free shelf last week; now the shelf is what's keeping them in games.

### The Substation (1-1) vs Scrublys Scrapyard (1-1)

Scrapyard favored 148.8 to 143.0\. Both full lineups, no empty chairs, actual football being played. Taylor and McMillan versus Lamar, Cook and Achane. Quietly the most watchable game on the family board.
